The working conditions of steel mill bearings are usually rigor. They will face high speeds, high radial loads, high temperatures, waters, dust and steel particles. The bearings should be impact-resistant and wear-resistant to ensure stable and efficient production of the rolling mills.

The material for the bearings is the basis of its performance. Good manufacturers (such as SKF and ESG Bearing) will use high quality mould steel. Both SKF and ESG Bearing are using vacuum induction melting to improve the bearing cleanliness properties. This will prevent the bearings from premature failure.
